‘’Non formal education – key to success!’’ is a project implemented by Association ENAS as their first training course supported by European Commission’s program ErasmusPlus, funded through Croatian National agency.
Project activities were held in Zadar, Croatia from 14th until 23rd of April 2015, and they gathered 25 participants coming from 6 different European countries. Partners from PlanBe, Plan it, Be it from Cyprus; Kaunas Centre for various nations from Lithuania, Connect from Italy; Puzzle OptimEast from Romania and Hellenic Youth Participation from Greece have worked together with host organization ENAS in order to ensure great quality of implementation and fulfillment of project objectives.
TC ‘’NFE-K2S!’’ addressed the need present throughout Europe for competent youth leaders and facilitators in civil society who will be willing and able to lead educational activities for young people based on the values of the European Union and the Council of Europe, through the usage of non-formal education which showed the greatest flexibility beyond the boundaries of social class, gender, ethnicity and mentality.
By implementing this training we tried to provide participants with the research and understanding of the concept and factors of non-formal education, so that they can competently design, facilitate and examine existing and new methods, as well as opportunities within non-formal education. Furthermore, to ensure the sustainability of this project, we enabled participants with designed and structured opportunities for the creation of professional and personal development plan that is based on competencies and values.
The project activities were ended with implementation of the evaluation workshop where participants had the opportunity to assess all aspects of the project - from logistics to the program. The participants expressed great satisfaction with the implementation of this training, and described it as a great experience and an appropriate base for continuing professional development in the field of non-formal education.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported our project, the media who covered our activities and thus provided us the necessary support; our partners who have chosen the best participants and thus contributed to the successful implementation of the training as well as meeting our objectives; 'Youth Hostel Zadar' for the excellent hospitality and certainly our trainers who are responsible for all the knowledge and experience that we are richer for - Nikolina Jurekovic and Maria Drakou .
We believe that by implementing this training we empowered youth workers to be able to work together on improving non-formal education and youth work thus creating new opportunities for young people across Europe.
