Details for the Activity

  • Topic:
  • Place: Greece
  • Duration:

How can festivals, often associated with big crowds and lots of littering, be approached sustainably? In the fourth episode of Green is Easy the organizers of the Techno Yoga Festival joined the podcast to talk about sustainable thinking when planning a festival. This festival sets a great green example by using a carpool system for shared rides to and from the area, selling vegan food only, having signs informing about littering and recycling, and emphasizing the importance of caring for the natural environment. We learned that implementing green practices sometimes takes time and planning, nevertheless, are completely doable. Most importantly, when event organizers highlight the importance of sustainability, they have the power to create a community that cares!
