GRL Power Reloaded | Workshop for Campaigns
Details for the Activity
On the occasion of World Youth Day (July 15), Hellenic Youth Participation organized a workshop on how to create a campaign. This workshop not only helped participants practice using social media and producing content, but also raised their social awareness, as the theme of the upcoming campaign they had to create was "Gender Equality in Cooking." At this point, it is important to mention that in order to raise awareness among as many people as possible on the internet, we turned to exceptional cooks who are also content creators on social media. More specifically, @madamegingercom, @surtuko_, @madamegateauxathens, @kedrois, @diet.out.of.the.box, and @krystaparamithi created alternative videos to show what the stereotypes in cooking are and at the end invited their audience to participate in our workshop, which was part of the European program Euromed GRL Power Reloaded. The workshop began with an open discussion about stereotypes in cooking, analyzing both personal opinions and the stereotypes presented in the videos created by the aforementioned creators. Particular attention was paid to the style and methodology of these videos, as participants used them as inspiration to create their own campaign. The participants then created campaigns on the theme of gender equality in cooking, entitled "The pot does not discriminate gender." The campaign was implemented through a photography workshop, collage creation, and video creation for social media. The workshop was a success, giving us food for thought about the stereotypes found in cooking, but also providing people with practical tools so that they can create their own campaigns in the future. The GRL Power Reloaded program is co-funded by the European Union.
