EnviRights - by us, for us!

EnviRights is a program that promotes the right to freedom of expression and demonstration in the context of environmental activism by young people (and others) within the European Union, in accordance with Articles 11 and 12 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU, by empowering and supporting environmental activists, better monitoring of respect for their rights, and promoting democratic dialogue with the media, the public, and policymakers.

Specific objectives:

- Create and test a transnational system for monitoring violations of environmental activists' rights.

- Strengthen the resilience, communication, and legal protection of individuals who engage in environmental activism.

- Promote awareness and training among the media, policymakers, and public officials.

- Enabling dialogue between stakeholders to support the effectiveness of rights and combat reduced participation in the political sphere.

Main results: mapping of environmental organizations and movements, creation of a methodology and platform for monitoring the rights of environmental activists, development of a training program, drafting of a handbook of recommendations for policymakers, transnational communication and advocacy campaign.

The program is carried out in collaboration with VolTo (Italy) UniTorino (Italy) Green Legal EU (Germany), Alda Europe (ΕU) and Municipality of Erd (Hungary).
