Hate Trackers
Details for the Activity
Hate Trackers Group 2025
The Hate Trackers Group of Hellenic Youth Participation continued its activities this year, creating a meaningful space for learning, reflection, and collective action against hate speech, both offline and online.
Through in-person meetings held at the HYP premises from October to December 2025, participants had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of what hate speech is and how it can be identified in different contexts. At the same time, the group explored the boundaries between freedom of expression and harmful speech, as well as practical ways to respond to hate speech both in face-to-face interactions and in digital environments.
The group was open to participants aged 18+ and functioned as a safe learning space that fostered connection among people with shared interests in human rights and democratic participation. Through discussion, analysis of real-life examples, and experiential activities, Hate Trackers participants were empowered to recognize, document, and actively address instances of hate speech.
The initiative contributed to the development of critical thinking and active citizenship, strengthening HYP’s role in promoting a more inclusive and respectful public discourse.
