How to Create Your Orienteering Event
The workshop “How to Create Your Orienteering Event” took place on January 11 at 4C and offered an interactive experience focused on the design and implementation of a successful orienteering event.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to orienteering as an outdoor activity that combines physical exercise, strategic thinking, and exploration in both natural and urban environments. Using a map and compass, key skills such as observation, teamwork, and decision-making were highlighted.
As part of the workshop, participants learned:
- how to organize an orienteering route,
- how to design maps and control points,
- how to create an experience that combines adventure and play.
The workshop was addressed to educators, sports instructors, and youth group members, as well as individuals with an interest in nature and treasure-hunt-style activities.
The activity was implemented within the framework of the Beyond Maps program, which is co-funded by the European Union.
