Level Up Your Finances

Details for the Activity

  • Topic: Financial literacy for women | Financial education
  • Place: Greece
  • Duration: 2025-2027

Level Up Your Finances is a small-scale partnership in adult education co-funded by the European Union through the organizations Hellenic Youth Participation (Greece), TE-IS (Hungary), Młodzi dla Europy (Poland), and eSquare (Germany).

The project was created to equip adult educators with innovative methodologies to educate women in financial literacy, recognising financial skills as central to gender equality and economic independence.

Level Up Your Finances aims to close the gap in women's financial knowledge and promote interactive, experiential learning through gamification, simulations, and case studies to improve financial decision-making and further financial inclusion, especially for women with fewer opportunities.

The project will collect 16 best practices for women’s financial literacy, train 16 people in gamification of financial education and co-create 4 interactive games. A comprehensive toolkit will be developed to be tested locally and improved. The consortium will implement 2 training workshops, a multiplier event in the partner countries, a post on EPALE and a European online event ensuring long-term impact.

The objectives of the project are to enhance adult educators' competences with tools and methodologies to teach financial literacy to women effectively. At the same time it aims to close the gender confidence gap by addressing the knowledge gap and the self-perception of financial skills among women and to foster interactive and experiential learning by introducing role-play, simulations, and real-life case studies to improve financial decision-making. Furthermore the project will promote financial inclusion and provide educators with strategies to reach women from vulnerable or low-income backgrounds. Local and European events will ensure dissemination and sustainability, empowering women with skills and encouraging long-term inclusion in financial education.

The projects will start with a Training Course in Greece in April of 2026 aimed at educators, trainers, mentors, coaches, career counselors, teachers, and volunteers active in adult education. The goal of the experiential training is to strengthen the skills of participants in financial literacy for women. In the training course, participants are invited to develop games to promote financial literacy in a playful way.

The results will be interactive games, which will be developed together during the training. Participants will have the opportunity to be trained in both the methodology of gamification and its application in financial education. The training will be carried out by two experienced trainers from HYP and TE-IS. After the training the testing and adapting phase begins. The participants will return to their local community and readjust the game they created to the needs of the women they work with with the support of their organisation. Each game will be tested at least 3 times during the design phase and another 2 times when it is completed for the best possible result. In the end a toolkit will provide all the material in a book and support other educators in the field of financial education.

Co-funded by the European Union and the State Scholarship Foundation of Greece (IKY).
