Questioning Migrations

Details for the Activity

  • Topic: Immigration policy - Workshop
  • Place: Athens
  • Duration: 21/6/23, 18.00 - 21.00

Action Details:

This specific event concerns an experiential workshop with the aim of better understanding the context surrounding the movement of immigrants and refugees in Europe. Through non-formal learning activities, we will further explore the term "Asylum Seeker", understand the opportunities, obstacles, conditions that exist and discuss immigration in Europe.

Through the activities, the aim is to create a safe environment for individuals, in order for them to express their opinions and concerns, respectfully. The purpose is to strengthen the knowledge, critical thinking and empathy of the people who will participate, regarding the topic.

A better understanding of the context and conditions faced by people arriving in Europe, we believe, is a basis for developing empathy and therefore "compassion" for refugees. Through the workshop, space will be given to individuals to reflect and express themselves and the aim is both to inform them and to cultivate empathy in them.

Hellenic Youth Participation participates in the long-term program “Questioning Migrations” of Erasmus+. Within the framework of this specific program, we are collaborating with 5 organizations from Spain, Italy, France and Luxembourg to create scientific material and experiential workshops for a better understanding of the European framework for migration.

In the context of this specific program, this experiential educational workshop was created in collaboration with the Refugee Week Festival.
