M+ Promoting Mental Wellbeing Among Educators

Details for the Activity

  • Topic:
  • Place: Abroad
  • Duration: 2023-2025

For educators, mental well-being is not just personal—it is pivotal to their ability to inspire and guide learners. However, 74% of adult educators report that their work has a significant impact on their mental well-being. Some of the main challenges include time-constraints, need for continuous professional updates and managing emotionally challenging situations.

To tackle these challenges, M + Promoting Mental Wellbeing Among Educators was created. The project is a transnational cooperation between organizations in Greece, Italy, Latvia and Portugal, to support the mental wellbeing of adult educators. The project aims to create practical tools and long-term strategies to help educators care for their wellbeing and build a strong support system.

The project's three different parts consist of:

  • The State of the Art Report: Providing a comprehensive overview of the mental health of adult educators across Europe. You can find the report here.

  • A Digital Booklet with Guidelines: Containing an immersive  training program offering accessible self-care tools. You can find the report here

  • An Action Plan: Integrating mental health promotion into adult education by addressing educators' unique challenges. You can find the action plan here

The project’s goals are:

  1. To investigate the current situation regarding the mental health of adult educators in Europe

  2. To raise awareness of the potential role of NGOs in promoting the mental well-being of adult educators

  3. To strengthen the capacities of adult educators in promoting mental well-being

  4. To develop an immersive educational program focused on self-care tools for adult educators

  5. To design an action plan to promote the mental well-being of adult educators in a long-term and sustainable perspective

The M+ project is co-funded by the European Union.
