Plastic Battles
Details for the Activity
Just before you take your summer break in Athens or outside, in between the excursion to the sea and the urban summer raston, the Food for Thought team has a cool proposal for you. In the summer, more than any other season, we consume large amounts of water to stay hydrated. However, many times this consumption is accompanied by the purchase of plastic bottles. We now know that a water bottle takes up to 500 years to degrade, while its use takes place over a period of time that can vary from a few minutes to a few hours. However, often the road from knowledge to practice is long and changing our habits is a personalized process that is not always easy. In this context, the Food for Thought team invites you to an event on the use of plastic, where through experiential learning and in a creative and fun way we will try to realize how many bottles we use on a daily basis, what alternatives exist, what difficulties we encounter in adopting pro-environmental behaviors and what we would like to change on a personal and collective level to realize them. The "Food for Thought" youth initiative is co-financed by the European Solidarity Corps of the European Union and the Youth Foundation for Lifelong Learning.
