Nice To Meet You

Nice to meet  you was implemented from 20.10 to 30.10.22 in Costinești, ROMÂNIA and the main topics were:

  • Raising awareness of 42 young people from 6 different countries on the impact and negative effect of discrimination, stereotypes, and prejudices in the current European context, by using non-formal education methods (creative workshop, role play, world-cafe, brainstorming etc), during 9 days of youth exchange.
  • Acquisition and development of new key competencies through cultural exchange, inclusionand diversity (by making national / traditional handicrafts using Origami technique) based on non-discriminatory non-formal activities (world-cafe, creative workshops, promotion, preparation and participation in the local exhibition CULTURE fair), for the 42 young people during the project implementation period.
  • Social integration of 12 young people with fewer opportunities through non-formal education methods and intercultural dialogue, during the project. By getting involved in the project, they will feel socially integrated, will gain confidence, will acquire key skills that will help them in the future both personally and professionally.
  • Promoting the feeling of solidarity and tolerance among young people through intercultural exchange, by promoting inclusion and diversity, in order to facilitate social cohesion at EU level during the project implementation period.

"My first youth exchange Erasmus+ mobility took place in Romania, Costinesti, on 20 to 30 of October 2022. I had never tried any kind of such mobility before and I am grateful that my first experience was through ODESA (Romania) and HYP(Greece) organisations. These 10 days of the " Nice to meet you! " program were something unreal. We got  together with people from 5 different countries and we bonded extremely well and really fast, only to find out how interconnected one culture is with the other. We shared common food and drinks, but with different names and small variances, we got inspired by new ideas of everyday life and for me especially it was a groundbreaking experience on how easily it actually is to really connect with others. Through origami, the folding paper art, I found moments of relaxation and creativity, which I was more than happy to share with children at our final exhibition one day before we departed. Hugging with the local people on that day, how they trusted us their children to take part in our event and to let us teach them how to make origami, is going to be a bright memory for a long time." – Despina

"Η πρώτη μου κινητικότητα ανταλλαγής νέων μέσω Erasmus+ πραγματοποιήθηκε στη Ρουμανία, στο Costinesti, στις 20 με 30 Οκτωβρίου 2022. Δεν είχα δοκιμάσει ποτέ άλλη τέτοιου είδους κινητικότητα και είμαι ευγνώμων που η πρώτη μου εμπειρία ήταν μέσω των οργανώσεων ODESA (Ρουμανία) και HYP (Ελλάδα). Αυτές οι 10 μέρες του προγράμματος «Nice to meet you!» ήταν το κάτι άλλο. Μαζευτήκαμε με ανθρώπους από 5 διαφορετικές χώρες και δεθήκαμε εξαιρετικά καλά και πολύ γρήγορα, μόνο για να μάθουμε πόσο αλληλένδετη είναι η μία κουλτούρα με την άλλη. Μοιραζόμασταν κοινά φαγητά και ποτά, αλλά με διαφορετικά ονόματα και μικρές παραλλαγές, εμπνευστήκαμε από νέες ιδέες της καθημερινής ζωής και, ειδικά για μένα, ήταν μια πρωτοποριακή εμπειρία σχετικά με το πόσο εύκολα μπορείς πραγματικά να συνδεθείς με τους άλλους. Μέσα από το origami, την τέχνη του αναδιπλωμένου χαρτιού, βρήκα στιγμές χαλάρωσης και δημιουργικότητας, τις οποίες χάρηκα να μοιραστώ με τα παιδιά στην τελευταία μας έκθεση, μια μέρα πριν αναχωρήσουμε. Η αγκαλιά με τους ντόπιους εκείνη την ημέρα, το πώς εμπιστεύτηκαν τα παιδιά τους σε μας για να πάρουν μέρος στην εκδήλωσή μας και να τους μάθουμε πώς να φτιάχνουν origami, θα είναι μια φωτεινή ανάμνηση για πολύ καιρό." - Δέσποινα
