In Veliki Zitnik, Croatia, from 20 to 27 June, a youth exchange called "Feel the Nature" took place. 

The primary objective of the "Feel the Nature" project and youth exchange was to explore the impact that contact with nature has on our lives. 

During the week, the participants learned about:

👉 the importance of empathy, cooperation and self-awareness

👉 the value of nature education

👉 the connection with nature and environmental activism

Participants were also given a weekly task to organise a local event, to raise awareness about the environment and sustainability.

Amazing project, surrounded by nature. By and with people that live their teachings and care for what they do. I will not forget our walk through the forest.

This program was a great opportunity for me to disconnect from my life in the poly and get closer to nature. It was also a very good opportunity to meet new people and make lifelong friendships with my peers from all over Europe.

"Reconnecting with nature" at Sanillés for me was a memorable experience, I received much knowledge and I got to know so many different people and cultures! Anna, Sam and Silke taught us about permaculture, plants, healthy soil and many more. Also, I won't forget Frank, the owner of this majestic place, who welcomed us warmly and introduced to us such interesting flavours!

The overall experience managed to capture the uniqueness and importance of interacting and connecting with other cultures. The theme of the program was a spark for further personal study on sustainability and permaculture that I hope to apply in my life. Each exchange was, is and will be a reminder that knowledge comes from everywhere, human connections exist everywhere and that what unites us is more than what divides us.
