Project: Logical/Mathematical Intelligence in Youth Work

Date: 01.12.2024 - 07.12.2024

Location: Trbovlje, Slovenia

The project was open for young people over 18, working with youth and looking for alternative ways to connect with young people. Participants were part of a team of people working with youth, trainers, and representatives of organisations at European level. They were trained and collaborated through experiential learning methods and enriched their knowledge and methods, while having the opportunity to discuss and enrich their knowledge in systems thinking and pattern analysis in order to create educational opportunities for youth.

The objectives of the project were to:

👉 Understand and apply systems thinking, how systems interact with each other and learn to recognise patterns, especially in the context of working with young people

👉 Develop reasoning skills through practical activities

👉 Understand new methods of feedback for the use of gamification in working with young people, such as escape rooms and digital tools.

👉 Apply the scientific method in problem solving analysing results and reflecting on outcomes

👉 Apply digital tools and artificial intelligence to be able to enhance young people's logical and mathematical thinking

Some comments from the team:

Dimitris:

Participating in the "Logical/Mathematical Intelligence in Youth Work" training course was a truly rewarding experience. The discussions and activities were both engaging and insightful, providing practical approaches for designing and implementing activities across various educational settings. Additionally, the opportunity to connect and collaborate with young people from different countries made the experience even more enriching, creating meaningful memories along the way. Overall, it was a valuable experience that equipped me with useful tools and fresh ideas to incorporate into my work.

Clara:

This training course allowed me to gain valuable knowledge and innovative ideas to enhance my work. The activities were very interesting and offered practical strategies for creating and implementing educational material in diverse settings. It was also a great occasion to connect with people from all across Europe, which added a lot of value to the program as it gave us the opportunity to exchange and learn in a multicultural environment. It was an amazing experience that I would recommend to everyone. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
