Some testimonials from the team:

Agapi:

I participated in the program "Shrinking Spaces for Democracy: How to activate European Values" in Turin. I had the opportunity to meet young people from different countries, make international friendships, and learn about other cultures, habits, and ways of thinking. It was a unique experience that helped me broaden my horizons and become more aware of the social and political issues discussed in the program. I feel grateful to have been selected, and without a second thought, I would participate again!

Dimitra:

The program was particularly interesting due to its theme, as well as the activities we took part in to better understand it. Through discussions, films, and lectures by an artivist and a psychologist, we learned about the factors that put democracy at risk, as well as ways to defend it. However, beyond the program's theme, it was the people I met there who truly made the experience unforgettable.

Anthony:

The theme of the programme was democracy and how the democratic process can be undermined - a particularly topical issue. We learned that human rights strengthen democracy and that fair elections are its cornerstone. We also looked at how fake news can weaken the democratic process, as ‘controlling’ the vote of the masses does not necessarily reflect their true will. I loved having the opportunity to meet people from different countries and hear their views on the current state of democracy. One of my favourite moments was the open dialogues, which can only contribute positively to our lives and certainly provide food for thought for all participants.

The project is co-funded by the European Union.
