Project: Sense the World

Location: Recoaro Terme, Italy

The Erasmus+ youth exchange “Sense the World” brought together young people aged 16–19 from six European countries in Recoaro Terme, Italy. Through non-formal and experiential activities based on the five senses, participants explored how differently people perceive, communicate, and connect with the world around them. They shared experiences, discovered Italian culture and nature, developed new skills, and created new friendships across Europe.

The objectives of the programme were for participants to:
👉 Develop empathy and a deeper understanding of different perspectives.
👉 Strengthen communication, teamwork, and active listening skills.
👉 Explore inclusion, accessibility, diversity, and a sense of belonging.
👉 Reflect on how EU values such as equality, human dignity, and solidarity can become everyday actions.
👉 Discover how environments and communication can become more inclusive for everyone.

Participant experiences:

Areti-Xeni Tavridou:
“This project was honestly amazing! I had so much fun and will keep it forever in my heart. I met amazing people and shared so many laughs and memories with them. I learned how to communicate better, be more open and social, and organise a trip more effectively. I also learned a lot about flora and fauna, tried fencing for the first time, and listened and danced to music from all around the world. Without a doubt, I would encourage everyone who hasn’t tried an Erasmus+ project yet to do it, because it can be one of the most inspiring experiences of their life!”

From the group:
“Our experience in Recoaro Terme was truly unique! We spent an entire week in a beautiful place surrounded by nature, living together with young people from across Europe. We shared unforgettable moments, laughter, and stories, and gave each other a little piece of ourselves that we’ll carry wherever we go. So many memories—and even more friends all across Europe!”
